You can take this bag anywhere. It’s just the right size to carry all kinds of things – from groceries to your laptop. In the pattern, I also include optional suggestions to personalize the bag in your own way. You can make it smaller or bigger, and even adjust the handles to your liking.
-Yarn: You can use 100% cotton yarn or a cotton blend in Aran weight. For the granny bag, you’ll need 170 meters (186 yards) of yarn for the main colour of the bag. For the grannies, you’ll need six additional colours, using approximately 85 meters (93 yards) of each colour. - Jute bag / lining for the inside You can choose to use a jute bag as the inner structure of your granny bag to make it a firm bag. The one I used measures 30 x 25 x 13 cm (approx. 11.8 x 9.8 x 5.1 inches). I ordered my jute bag from Shein, but any similar bag will work just fine. You can also choose to line the bag yourself and reinforce the bottom with a piece of cardboard, for example.
